Irregardless doesn't even make sense breh, but I can understand why people would use conversate.. But basically it's the same reason informating is not a word, you say informing right?

It is a word, now. Words are only a means to communicate. They don't need validation. The use of a word results in it being in the dictionary, not the other way around. There other words which have been used in colloquial speech and that we accept as correct now, which came into formal acceptance in a similar manner. Teachers and people in general who didn't use the word, went on and on about how "ain't" isn't a word. Now if you look into the dictionary, it's there.

Books don't define what is speech, people do.
