I think one of the reasons R&B is face down in the mainstream is because folks are not starting in gospel or the black church. Most of the GOATs started in the black church, hell even Elvis started in the black church. "We losing the recipes"
There is no litmus test for new artists.

Another thing, no musicians, I commend the south for hold it down with the HBCU and High School show bands and for fostering and supporting musicianship. The Midwest got a lot of bands as well. Is it enough though?

These vocalist shouldn't sound like random folks off the street, we pay them to sound 10x better. Who lowered the damn bar and when did this happen?

It isn't dead. Just don't listen to the mainstream shyt. I don't even blame most of those artists because nikkas aren't really buying R&B in 2014 anymore.
I don't listen to most mainstream stuff I still try to be open minded but it's just empty sounding ass music in all genres. Remember around late 2000 country nikka's was complaining that country music was dead..

it aint dead. U just got to look for it. While the cacs are faking the front putting their image out there, our voices are in lil clubs, on XM radio, and those old-school black FM stations that ya mammy used to listen to when u were a kid. Watch. :youngsabo: The soul never leaves the GOATs. :win:

Rnb is about love. This generation is about poppin pill getting drunk and fukking.

Imagine what would happen to gospel music if everybody went athiest

I kinda agree and but why is Drake so popular, he sings about love all the time?
World would be lame as hell if there was no type of spirituality in music.

He came in the game talking about supporting strippers. Is 1st single said

"I want the money cars and hoes" it's not RnB just because he's Tryna sing with pitch correction on his voice.

:manny:Yeah I agree. He's not a traditional r&b. He is kinda like an R&B rapper. He raps over r&b beats. Nikka can't sing worth a lick tho. Dude sings about a totally of 5 notes in every song with no emotion. shyt is a problem when Ja Rule got more emotion in his voice than Drake.
I was referring to the generation supporting drake "marvin's room" love depressed songs. They seem to care about love if they rocking with that.
