I'm playing Pokemon yellow and professor oak gave me only 1 Pokemon and it can't damage any of the Pokemon in the gym

Alright so I beat the geodude but his onyx usin some move called Bid
And everyone he use it it's like his onyx went to prison got swole for two turns and kill my pikachu with one hit
That's probably why they call it bid but I feel like that's cheating

Don’t the smaller Pokemon have this move where they dodge the opponent’s attack?

Decided to release him after I best that onyx, I got lucky and he didn't use bid
But I released my pikachu once I got this red fish Pokemon from a man in Pokemon center. The guy said it was strong so we will see pikachu was far too weak

there's a way to get mankey or one of the nido monsters. catch them and level them up until they learn low kick
