Why is leading in(NBA) ppg determines the scoring title?

If you mean why doesnt the person who scores the most overall points in the season win the scoring title than IDK, but they should make it like that.

Exactly. Its stupid. Buckets should determine this. Not a player missing 25 games and winning the the scoring title by 0.1 of a point. I hate that ish.

thats the way they determine all per game stats so that a player who may be hurt for a week isn't took out of the running.

I understand the qualifications on winning the the title. I just feel durability should factor in it. Cuz who is to say that if (insert player) would continue scoring at his ppg pace if he had played all 82. Another thing players should not be able to play more than 82 games.

I may be bias due to the fact that it's always been a certain way, but that shyt doesn't seem like it would fit basketball.

"And Kevin Durant comes into tonights game with 1752 points scored this season."

That just doesn't have the same ring to it as...

"And Kevin Durant comes into tonights game avg. 32 ppg"
