Why is it the more popular a manga the worse the anime quality?

You take some manga thats popular but not on the level of like a One Piece or Naruto and the quality of the animation will actually be decent to amazing. But the manga that are really popular, that anime is hot garbage quality. Finally started watching Attack On Titan and some of the action sequences are drawn really well and you can tell someone took their time planning this shyt out and they spent some money on the animators. Meanwhile One Piece is damn near unwatchable and filled with trash (6 minutes of recap and intro every episode, every other scene is a camera pan of a single frame, the music hasnt changed, etc...). You watch 20 episodes of trash tier quality animation with One Piece and Naruto to get to the one episode where they put the good animation team on the job (Last Katakuri fight episode).

One Punch man had an amazing 1st season in the anime but they jobbed that shyt out in season 2 and its also unwatchable.

I havent watched Demon Slayer so i dont know what they doing with that one yet.

Is Toei paying Oda a shyt load of money to run One Piece weekly forever and just let whoever they can get animate it?

The animation in the Wano Arc has been fire, I don't know what you're talking about :gucci:

Granted, the episodes are dragged out, but that's because they're trying not to catch up with the manga. Same reason it took so long for Namek to explode :manny: it's either that or filler arcs

Had to stop watching one piece anime, I didn’t even get to the time skip. The arc where they are running through the prison to get to Ace is the WOAT.

There are 5 minute spans of them just running in place with same animation repeated over and over.

I’m definitely going to just read the Manga.

Watching Bakuman really made me appreciate Manga much more.

Anime is basically a giant commercial for the source material. It's more a promotional tool than it's own product. Every now and then an anime blows up to the point that it's almost it's own product. It's still based off the source material so the quality is usually gonna be tied to the rate of release of it.

If you haven't noticed like 80% of anime is based on a manga, light novel, or video game. It's infrequent that they make an original anime based on nothing.

Attack on Titan is a popular manga. To your. point though people were recently trashing it.Jujutsu kaisen is one of the most popular out there and the anime is going crazy. Its probably just confirmation bias. Truth is the conversation atound animation comes down to the teams and apparently animation isnt a job thats easy so it depends o the time they have and level of energy they are working on.

Wano was good the first couple episodes but there has been a clear drop as well lately. But still a bit better than the previous arcs, I'll give you that. You still get a couple decent episodes then it's junk again. Maybe they should have went the season route instead of having to run something every single week so the quality could remain high.

This is the big issue here, shows like one piece, db super and naruto gotta pump out episodes so fast the quality suffers or you get dumb ass filler arcs
