why is everyone in The Booth trapped in the early-to-mid 2000s?

And the thing about y'all nikkas is y'all hide behind some guise of missing intellectualism in ya rap, but that was all dead after the 90s passed. In terms of subject matter the only thing that separates rappers now from rappers in the 2000s and onwards is that rappers today actively rap about drug usage.

didn't read the whole thread but i'd be surprised if anybody said this:

because theres nothing to talk about these days concerning mainstream except the producers..

as far as the underground goes, theres too much of a cultural gap nowadays. most of the "underground" rappers that get shine on the web nowadays are those blog rappers & plants.

the mid-00s were the last days of common ground.

"rappers" now and days don't even rap for the most part. They mumble or struggle sing in autotune. And when they do "rap" they repeat the same phrase multiple times like a chant. You cant discuss lyrics or talk about hot lines when their are barely any lyrics. You can vibe, turn up and nod your head to it but thats about as deep as it goes. There is nothing really to talk about beside production.

I "heard" Acid rap in it's entirety and I don't remember what it's like or any song titles and couldn't give a fukk.

:yeshrug:

I ain't gon hate on him or poke fun at the people who love him but fukk that nikka...all I remember is a bunch of funny vocal inflections and people dikk riding it after telling me how weird and unnecessary strange vocal inflections are.

Casuals

Migos mumble?
G Herbo mumbles?
Big Sean mumbles?
J Cole mumbles?
Y'all don't actually listen to the music you just repeat these tired ass points based on a sample size designed to prove your points.

You just used a small sample size to try to make your point. Never hear of any g herbo but he is irrelevant mainstream wise whoever he is.

Migos aint really saying nothing in their songs either. And I like migos too. And every rapper these days uses their flow. But you cant even be a lyrical rapper when you constrain yourself to that migos parrapa rappa flow. That's part of the problem right there.

Future is one of the biggest out and he and all his clones mumbles
Drake sings more than he raps
Young thug and all his clones mumbles
Desiigner mumbled on the biggest record of last year
The biggest female "rapper" Nikkie put out more pop songs that raps.
Kendricks last album was more jazz than rap.

co fukking sign

shyt makes me not even wanna post in the booth.

All these "So why didn't Pac ...." "50 cent...." threads are ridiculous
The amount of flabbiness in that forum is astounding. :gucci:

I imagine everyone in The Booth to be no younger than 25 years old.

Dude's mentalities are warped by perceptions and anaylsis that would have only been legitimate if it was 2003.

The lack of any discussion and excitement about new, YOUNG, hip-hop. And only talking about if it's ridiculously mainstream.

Everything viewed through the lens of an flabby person. You can feel the :flabbynsick: coming from their keyboard.

The same goddamn recycling threads about:

" Ai yo,I didn't know that Dr. Dre produced E-40's 1991 b-side remix to The Geto Boy's The Other Level :ohhh:"

or "Remember the beef between Camron and Stan Spit"

"Remember when Dipset and G-Unit ran NY?"

"The 2000's was the best era in hip-hop" (:mjlol:)

"I miss wearing baggy pants and xxxxxxl shirts :mjcry:"

Only caring about the same rotation of 15 rappers.... I could go on.

If I wanted to learn about the current musical climate I couldn't go to The Booth.

actually i posted this point

Only so much to discuss in this era's fragmented market, the back in the day threads discuss shyt us :old: posters collectively experienced. Nowadays you can't get the same consensus because everyone is listening to something different

I could honestly make a thread about new music from the younger generation but I'm not about wasting my time if it's not always gonna be talked
