The premise of this thread is kinda ridiculous.

You pretty much answered your question on the original post. Most of us were born in the early to late 80s, so of course the late 90s to mid 2000s era will always be special to us. That's when we were old enough to go to parties, and all that other stuff. And that era's music was our soundtrack.
