Why is being labeled "militant" a bad thing?

Seems like on the coli people throw around the label "militant" as a slur.

Why is that?

Wouldn't a lot of leaders and heroes throughout history be labeled "militant" on some level?

Thats the mentality of a rac00n. They are so sickened by a black person that actually stands up for their race, they label them a militant because thats the way they see them. They'd never call a Chinese man who defends his race a militant though

This has been going on as of late.

I know there are phonies in here that are all talk, and rightfully they get called out, but the minute someone presses hard on white supremacy in this forum, regardless of one's posting history, the "Militant" label isn't far behind.

Militants (or any extremist really) usually lack perspective and are very short-sighted.
Basically, militants (like feminists or conspiracy theorists or whatever group) are good for one thing, but if you're not pursuing that one thing that person is pretty much worthless.

Because it's used in satire to insult someone who takes an extreme pro black stance on any particular topic

Basically it's a defense mechanism people use that are insecure about their own actions and beliefs when it comes to race

Makes sense. Agreed on the "coli militant" definition.

To be real, I've notice a lot of folks here (not all) that throw the "militant" label on posters either don't want to address racial issues or at best want to scratch the surface only. I remember when a lot of folks complained about race threads on TLR, which led to the Race Track and then The Root to be created.

EDIT: For the record, all things considered, I actually like The Root.
