Above the fray.
He had his manager's hat on while saying this because the industry distinctions he names help to promote artists. Billboard chart categories and Grammy categories.

Listened first 5 minutes, and don't get the impression that he cares about the art form, per se. I mean, he's introduced as a man who either did or tried to manage tekashi. So, again, he is strictly talking about business rather than art.

Pvnch was talking about the business aspect. His main argument is that Hip-Hop needs to have distinct subgenres that can be marketed and nominated for recognition separately.
For example, a 19 year old sing-songy autotune rapper shouldn't be in the same Grammy category as Nas, E-40, or Killer Mike. It's a pretty sound argument, actually.

i mean.... it's like asking people to put it in a box for you, because your ass is in a box.
then they put kendrick in the best "rap album box" and give the general to taylor swift.... then it's "well kendrick the general better album" babble

pick a side and stay there. this aint preschool graduation where the teacher makes up hella awards so that the whole class can get a trophy lol

Personally I would love profanity free rap.

As I've gotten older and leveled up mentally and spiritually, I can't really listen to rap as much as I used to mainly because of the profanity.

Profanity in general irks me now, especially in music.

Would love for rappers to not use curse words in music.....but the rapper him or herself would have to have a change in their own mentality for that to happen.
