Why doesn't the crowd connect with Carmella?

Damn near since she's been here the girl can't get shyt for a response. While this describes a lot of people in the company, something just strikes me as odd about it with her.

She looks good, can talk now that's she's not doing the fake accent and just, has a dope finisher, no terrible in the ring and does annoying heel/loudmouth bytch shyt. At best I'd expect boos because she's annoying and/or cheers in smark cities but it just doesn't seem like people care for her or about her. She's one of the few females in the company they let show personality.

It's just indifference. We're supposed to dislike her because she's heel now, but she's come such a ways from being Yoko Ono to being decent that we can't fully hate her.

She also kind of plays second fiddle to Ellsworth who we're supposed to boo, but don't really WANT to boo.

She's kind of Alicia Fox status where people dig her and respect her, but she doesn't have enough defining moments or a character to react too intensely for any particular reason.

Her theme hits and you're like, "Oh...yeah. Carmella... the briefcase...almost forgot. Alright then."

I don't expect the girl to get Hassan heat or Attitude era pops but her theme hits and it's crickets. As matches go on and end she gets responses and MITB she definitely got a response but it doesn't carry on. By now, given her standing with Ellsworth, the briefcase, hell, even her run against the Bellas, I just expect more than crickets when her music hits.

There's nothing really hateable about her as a heel. She's annoying, but that's about it. So far, any reaction she gets is in relation to other people or events. During her feud with Nikki, people booed or cheered based on whether they loved or hated Nikki. When Ellsworth started managing her, same thing. When the MitB shyt happened, she got nuclear heat, but it was because people were mad at the booking.

Carmella has improved both in the ring and on the mic tenfold since she was called up, but hasn't really done anything character-wise to sway people. Going back, I think the feud with Nikki really hurt her. It seemed like people were starting to care, but then Nikki squashed her in both PPV matches. It just made Carmella look like someone you shouldn't care about. They're trying to fix that now, but it might be too little, too late.

It really is amazing how Lana put Carmella into perspective. I used to think Carmella was as bad as it got for the SD women. Then Lana came along and showed me how low it can really go.
