How is he suffering from not getting bailed out by the refs when he's missing open jumpers, layups and getting ripped by Matthews in the open court? How can he not hit mid range shots when he's been doing it all year?
How about we call a spade a spade and admit that he along with many of the other players are shook and overwhelmed right now. Why is he shooting so bad??? because he's shook and confused. The Rockets run a read and react offense and run no plays. Lemme repeat that for the slow folks the Rockets LITERALLY run no plays outside of certain situations. The offense is a free flowing offense that relies on the players to make correct decisions on the fly and create for others on the fly. It's similar to soccer in that the players create offense. In saying that if you're under stress and don't have the experience and/or composure to continue to make correct decisions then the offense will suffer. Harden is off mentally and is making boneheaded mistake after mistake whether it be holding onto the ball too long and milking the clock, taking terrible shots early in the shot clock even though he's struggling, taking 28 shots and becoming a chucker, trying to take Matthews one on one because he's embarrassed on the other end, and so on.

Yes I have watched every game he's played in a Rockets uniform except for 2 games last year and re-reading my post I should have been clearer. Yes he is looking for contact and not getting as many calls. I disagree with that being the reason why he's struggling. Contrary to popular belief on this board, even during the regular season it's not as big of an advantage as people make it out to be. When he drives the lane looking for contact it is a purely feast or famine play. If he doesn't draw the foul it is almost always a wasted possession due to a shot attempt that has next to zero chance at going in or a turnover that usually turns into points for the other team. Contrary to popular coli belief he doesn't get a lot of those calls in the regular season. Contrary to popular coli belief I'd argue that him doing that is almost just as good for the opposing team as it is for Harden drawing a foul. However it's human nature to notice when things don't go the way you want as opposed to recognizing when things do.
