Why does every commentator I read/hear expect D-Wade to be better?

It seems that everybody is really ignoring that Thabo is a good defender. I said from the start that the Thunder match up with extremely well with the Heat. I think they could play Lebron, Wade, and Bosh straight up and not double at all.

Its cause he's won a ring before and these nikkas seem to think he can just turn it on whenever he wants. He can rise to the occasion and all that other sports narrative bs.

Even as a heat fan idk :ld:

Because he was one of the best players in the league for a majority of the season...

And as good as Thabo is, the best offensive players are still expected to beat him regularly.

thabo cant guard a healthy, motivated wade. with pnr and screens, it would take a total team effort.

Wade is so overrated. This nikka is really still riding his 2006 wave.

Missed the playoffs or got bounced in the first round every year after that til LeBron came to town.

Nobody misses more layups than him. Every play he ends up on the ground and then bytching to the refs while not getting back on D.

Still can't shoot.

It's not Thabo, it's Wade. He's simply not that great. :yeshrug:

I think Thabo is that good! I'm not trying to be a Laker homer, but I base much of my opinion on the way he plays Bean, he gives Kobe some REAL problems. And Wade is not the player that Kobe is offensively.

Kobe dropped over 30 three times on Thabo last series. Iono if he gives him that many problems, but I DO know that I can't see Wade going off on him.

Wade's been taking too many jumpshots, and he built his game on getting to the rim ... so as long as he keeps taking contested j's, Thabo is gonna have a good time on him.

wade is playing on a injury thats really the only excuse i have for his playing. I think he still has some 06 in him but no doubt i think lebron has offset wades tendency to be the leader. probably why he plays so extra passive the weight gain obviously didnt help either

But that kind of goes to my point, Bean was hitting some HARD shots! He did have the closeout game where he was getting to the rim, but that was because he was hitting those jumpers.

As far as playing Wade, Thabo is playing him perfectly. And people forget that Sefalosha is 6'7. All he is doing is playing off just enough to take the drive away, but staying close enough to contest the jumper. I'm not sure if Wade could take him in the post and unless the refs give him some calls, I just can't see him getting off this series.

Yeah he's just not as athletic. I wouldn't count him out though. Im not about to call him :flabbynsick: I could see him getting healthy this off-season and reinventing his game a little bit. Maybe thats blind optimism though :manny:

That's his whole game though. When Jordan lost his athleticism he was still the best player in the game because he had his midrange game. Same with Kobe. Iverson too. Wade can't shoot! He can't shoot FTs, he can't shoot 3's, and now he can't explode to the basket. nikka is :flabbynsick: status.

:deadrose: is next.

People are remembering his shaky stretch of games against Indiana before turning it on and looking like the "old" Wade for the last few. People are expecting flashes of brilliance.

I'm not discounting him yet.
