P.S. the revolutionaries of the old NEVER called themselves "woke" or "pro-black". All they said was they were proud and would defend their heritage. They also didn't post memes and sh-t for likes.
It's all titles though bruh-bruh..

The ancestors called themselves conscious, Afrikans, Garvey-ites, Afro-socialists neo-marxists, pan africanists, abolitionists, anti-federalists and whatever fit the context at the time.

Right now, the movement is memes, Social Media is an organ of the masses.. Woke denotes a state of mind, of understanding and ultimately, upliftment..I see what you're saying about the bumper sticker revolutionary nikkas, but the ultimate goal should be knowledge, and if we can disseminate that in an open forum through terms like 'woke' or 'coccoa butter twitter' or whatever nikkas flock to this week, then I'm all for it and I think you should too.

I find it suspicious in almost everyday thread you're in you have to point out "I'm just a black man proud of his heritage" "DON'T CALL ME A MILITANT".
What's a militant? I don't call anybody else that anymore either. We are jsut people with opinions. Some opinions are safe others are moderate/extreme. Also, I say that because it's the truth.

I agree and I support the liberation of African people worldwide. However, I hate these memes that I see on IG. Let's talk about the Black dollar more instead of non important sh-t. Also, let's talk about the U.S. bombing Brown people more. I'm real.

I believe some of them very explicitly did.
Pan-Africanism and Black nationalism imply the same set of goals.
And yes, "other races" do say the same things.
Do some bare-minimum research on pan-Arabism and Arabic socialism, the nationalist movements of South and Central American countries, Mao's Chinese liberationist ideology, etc.

I heard of Pan Arabism.
Please read my point before posting. SO-CALLED is called that for a reason. We have some of them doing it for likes and to get chicks nowadays. I have enough common sense to see that.

I meant minorities not these f-cktards. NVM, the point is that we need to be serious about our liberation. We have brothas who get it and sistas too. However, most are using this tip (Deray) for a come up. Let's just keep it real. If it's not that it's to get puzzy.

I'm all for the movement becoming mainstream, man..

We fight for black awareness and then get angry at Blacks for being aware.

If the first place a little Black Boy sees and understands an Ankh or a Sankofa or is on some lighskin girls teeshirt when he's 3 years old, and I didn't learn what it was until I was about 19, then he's way ahead of me.

my problem with it is this...knowing history is great and all but will do nothing for the plight of the masses of black people in this country.

we need more engineers....doctors...businessmen....to create for our community...and knowing what an Ankh is will not help with any of that

Well, here's the thing..

We do have doctors businessmen and engineers, right? Obviously not a fraction of what we need to, but they do exist, right? What kind of people, generally, are those professions, though? Bedwenches and cac-chasers, Sheriff Clarke type nikkas.. This is why the whole knowledge-of-self thing becomes so important. If we're to create our own economic base, there needs to be a social component to it..

The reason why Italians were able to go from the migrant slums to where they are now in just under 100 years is because they understood there was a common ethnic identity and pride, it's through this lens that they put nikkas on.. Each one, teach one. If Sheriff Clarke knew about himself, his history and what it means, then he would act as a true pioneer and be more keen on putting his own people on, thus continuing the cycle and growing our own brand as a society.

For us to get all of these engineers and lawyers that we're talking about, we need a 'black-first' outlook on things, everyone else does it.. The best way to rally around our commanalities is through our history (We can't appeal to eachother along ethnic lines as we don't even know our ethnicity and the ones that DO know it (Africa Africans) are so against eachother -again, because of the whiteman- that shyt's a lost cause.
