The AP and Coaches polls are obsolete. The Human element needs to be eliminated. It’s not that hard to determine non division winner playoff slots with algorithms. If you want to add weighted advantages to the Big 10 and SEC then so be it, but they should only account for 1 extra spot. So that’s 4 schools from them, ACC winner, Big 12 winner makes Six. The 6 conference winners get in and Notre Dame needs to join a division.

If you expand to 16 teams the big 12 and ACC gets another team and the SEC and Big 10 gets a third. This would eliminate the need for votes. Seeds would be based on standings.

Harder based on……… pre seasons polls. Teams are ranked before the season is even played. With NIL and the transfer portal, it’s impossible to know whose good and who’s not.
