LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO TOWN
Live in a neighborhood where people can effectively solicit from door to door brehs

I ain't have a JW (or mormon) knock on my door in over a decade.
I use to be an unbaptized publisher and have people in my fam that still are JW. It's not a cult but it's def some weirdos in there. They one of the few Christian religions that actually *try* to follow what's in the bible. Half the christians in here probably fornicate and jerk off, imagine a religion where nikkas really adhere to what's in the bible (publicly at least) and you get ostracized if you steer the wrong way. I imagine its like being muslim in one of those sharia law areas , without getting stoned to death. You just get disfellowshipped :lolbron:[/QUO

Word I got dispel low shipped years ago .. But that's another story.

Bibles don't have to have thous and thees; that's not what I'm talking about. NIV, ESV, are contempary translations.

My post was concerning specifically the New World Translation which is edited to line up which Jehovah Witness theology. Its published by the Watchtower Society which has repeatedly revised it under new editions when contested.

Like I said, the translation lines up with the others when compared side by side

@ReturnOfJudah while, but I'm willing to go a few Biblical rounds if ya'll want. :youngsabo:

The real Jehova witnesses are the Israelites according to the bible

Isaiah Chapter 43:1
43 But now thus saith the Lord that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine.

Isaiah Chapter 43:10-14
10 Ye are my witnesses, saith the Lord,
and my servant whom I have chosen:

that ye may know and believe me,
and understand that I am he:
before me there was no God formed,
neither shall there be after me.
11 I, even I, am the Lord;
and beside me there is no saviour.
12 I have declared, and have saved,
and I have shewed, when there was no strange god among you:
therefore ye are my witnesses, saith the Lord, that I am God.

13 Yea, before the day was I am he;
and there is none that can deliver out of my hand:
I will work, and who shall let it?

14 Thus saith the Lord, your redeemer, the Holy One of Israel;

Psalms Chapter 147:19-20

19 He sheweth his word unto Jacob, his statutes and his judgments unto Israel.
20 He hath not dealt so with any nation: and as for his judgments, they have not known them. Praise ye the LORD.

God was talking to the Israelites when he said hes not a respector of persons. God was talking to the Israelties when he gave his "dos and donts in Deuteronomy". He also said "if you don't obey me i will scatter you all over the world and you will live in the midst of the nations. So he love all the Israelites all over the world

Proof
Deuteronomy 28:64
"Moreover, the LORD will scatter you among all peoples, from one end of the earth to the other end of the earth; and there you shall serve other gods, wood and stone, which you or your fathers have not known.

Deuteronomy 28:64
And the LORD shall bring thee into Egypt again with ships, by the way whereof I spake unto thee, Thou shalt see it no more again: and there ye shall be sold unto your enemies for bondmen and bondwomen, and no man shall buy you.
Leviticus 26:33
'You, however, I will scatter among the nations and will draw out a sword after you, as your land becomes desolate and your cities become waste.

Psalm 106:27
And that He would cast their seed among the nations And scatter them in the lands.

Jeremiah 9:16
"I will scatter them among the nations, whom neither they nor their fathers have known; and I will send the sword after them until I have annihilated them."

Ezekiel 12:15
"So they will know that I am the LORD when I scatter them among the nations and spread them among the countries.

Ezekiel 20:23
"Also I swore to them in the wilderness that I would scatter them among the nations and disperse them among the lands,

Ezekiel 22:15
"I will scatter you among the nations and I will disperse you through the lands, and I will consume your uncleanness from you.

Zechariah 10:9
"When I scatter them among the peoples, They will remember Me in far countries, And they with their children will live and come back.

Jeremiah 13:24
"Therefore I will scatter them like drifting straw To the desert wind.

Ezekiel 5:10
'Therefore, fathers will eat their sons among you, and sons will eat their fathers; for I will execute judgments on you and scatter all your remnant to every wind.

Jeremiah 18:17
'Like an east wind I will scatter them Before the enemy; I will show them My back and not My face In the day of their calamity.'

Ezekiel 12:14
"I will scatter to every wind all who are around him, his helpers and all his troops; and I will draw out a sword after them.

1 Kings 14:15
"For the LORD will strike Israel, as a reed is shaken in the water; and He will uproot Israel from this good land which He gave to their fathers, and will scatter them beyond the Euphrates River, because they have made their Asherim, provoking the LORD to anger.

Nehemiah 1:8
"Remember the word which You commanded Your servant Moses, saying, 'If you are unfaithful I will scatter you among the peoples;

Lamentations 4:16
The presence of the LORD has scattered them, He will not continue to regard them; They did not honor the priests, They did not favor the elders.
Psalm 44:11
You give us as sheep to be eaten And have scattered us among the nations.

Zechariah 7:14
"but I scattered them with a storm wind among all the nations whom they have not known Thus the land is desolated behind them so that no one went back and forth, for they made the pleasant land desolate."

Ezekiel 36:19
"Also I scattered them among the nations and they were dispersed throughout the lands According to their ways and their deeds I judged them

Zechariah 2:6
"Ho there! Flee from the land of the north," declares the LORD, "for I have dispersed you as the four winds of the heavens," declares the LORD

Jeremiah 30:11
'For I am with you,' declares the LORD, 'to save you; For I will destroy completely all the nations where I have scattered you, Only I will not destroy you completely But I will chasten you justly And will by no means leave you unpunished.'
.
Ezekiel 11:16
"Therefore say, 'Thus says the Lord GOD, "Though I had removed them far away among the nations and though I had scattered them among the countries, yet I was a sanctuary for them a little while in the countries where they had gone."'

.

This doesn't acknowledge that the point that the scripture says EVERY nation...not just the Israelite nation.

This is further illustrated in Romans 10:12

Bible Gateway passage: Romans 10:12 - New International Version

According to the Bible, God doesn't currently show favoritism to one nation over another. He did in the past with ancient Israel, but Jesus said that the Kingdom would be taken from them and given to a people producing its fruits.

Bible Gateway passage: Matthew 21:43 - English Standard Version

And here it says that because of Israel's failings, salvation would be open to the Gentiles..."people of the nations".

Bible Gateway passage: Romans 11:7-11 - King James Version

Bible Gateway passage: Acts 15:13-14 - New International Version

I told you, I'm not watching any videos.

Bible Gateway passage: Romans 9:23-25 - New International Version

Here, there is a CLEAR separation between Jews (Israelites) and Gentiles
It's just over your head. Sorry if you are not smart enough to understand what I'm showing you & too lazy to watch and actually learn something . You have already lost so hang it up

The definition of "GENTILE" from the Zondervan Compact Bible Dictionary:
USUALLY it means a non-Israelite people. The key word is USUALLY. So in other words their were Israelites (primarily the Northern kingdom of Israel led by Ephraim that were also called the lost sheep because we were scattered abroad. Read Deut 28:64, John 11:47-52, and James 1:1) that were called GENTILES (Read Eph 2:11 and 1 Cor 12:2). The Northern kingdom of Israel headed by Ephraim were broken that it be not a people. (Read Isa 7:8-9). Also the Northern kingdom went to straight idolatry under Jeroboam (Read 1 Kings 12:26-30 and Hos. 4:17). So Ephraim (the 10 tribes of the house of Israel) was cast off from being his people because of idolatry and sin and became known as GENTILES in the New Testament being GRAFTED back in the fold with Judah (Jews) when you read Romans 11 and Hosea 1:6-11, and Hosea 2:23, 1 Peter 2:10, and Ezek. 37:15-22 and Judah ( Jews which consists of Judah, Benjamin, and Levi) was still faithful to God. (Read Hosea 11:12) The Most High and Christ has never dealt with the HEATHEN GENTILES. (Read Psalms 147:19-20 and 2 Esdras 6:53-59).

People don't hate them, they just get annoyed because those two groups knock on doors trying to spread the word.

This is mostly the case.
Moreso for JW.

Mormons are feared more because there is more misinformation and myth. People think they know Mormonim from incorrect propaganda (mostly regarding polygamy and views on blacks and other things they've heard) so they are distrusting of them. Fearful and/or hateful.

With Jehovah's Witnesses most ppl don't really know much of anything about what they believe othre than perhaps that they don't celebrate certain holidays... so they are merely annoyed by them knocking door to door.

(Mormons don't knock door to door by the way, the ones you see in white shirts heading places are going to particular residences that called and requested info on the faith.

I'm Purest Fundamentalist Mormon by the way. My mother was a Jehovah's Witness... but she was disfellowshiped when I was about 12.

"In the United States, 37% of adults who self-identify as Jehovah's Witnesses are African Americans. This is the highest proportion among the 22 largest religious identifications in the United States."

Demographics of Jehovah's Witnesses - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I hate defending Jehovah's Witnesses, but to try to paint them as some sort of racist group, especially in a modern context, is very misleading.

I met an asian family when I was a kid that was from China, but they were Jehovahs witnesses. So they came over here and one of the JW sisters let the family stay with her. For a long time too... like maybe a month or more. Then her and her husband went and stayed with thm in China.

Weird stuff.
cool tho.

edit: they didn't even speak english but they came to all the services and sat through all the meetings. I remember basically doing like a version of charades to communicate with the son and daughter.

I think they asked for some donation money or something. We couldn't understand why they was in a black neighborhood like ours anyway. I think my oldest brother was like 18 then.
bs
:comeon:

Your story is most likely fabricated. People don't have stories of Mormons begging for donations cause they aren't allowed to ask you for anything..
In fact, they are only allowed to ask if you need something. But they don't carry money anyway, except perhaps for lunch.
That is... if you are talking about the LDS members in the black pants white shirts.

They never ask you to do anything or give anything. The most they might do is waste your time if you stop to talk with them reluctantly, but usually they are biking somewhere cause they have an appointment. Like I said they arent going door to door, they are sent to specific addresses that have requested info about the religion... so contrary to popular belief if they were to talk with you for long then they are the ones that would be late.

If you ask them to help you take out the trash or any random thing they can assist you with they are supposed to do it if they can though. :pachaha:

But yeah, Mormons they don't do unsolicited collections like that. Jehovah Witnesses either.
Thats simply not how it works.
JW will try all day to talk to you but they aren't begging for money. In fact, at the Witness functions everything is free.:manny:

You LIED and said that the doctrine of Ham's curse applying to black people had NEVER been refuted.

But it had been in both 1956 AND 1967. That's at least 60 years that Jehovah's Witnesses have not believed that shyt.

There's a lot of true shyt you can criticize them about. There's no reason to lie.
People wanna believe what they wanna believe. Facts just get in the way of that.
A person thats gone thier entire life under a pretense is unlikely to change their mind even when presented with more accurate info. Its just the way the psyche works.

I'm not a fan of the LDS for many reasons... but none of those reasons are addressed in this thread. Most of this thread is just regurgitated 'x group believes this' non-sequiters of things that simply incorrect.

Same with the Jehovah Witness attacks.
If people wanna be pissed about them knocking on doors, thats fine. They do knock on doors. Thats a legit complaint. But they are far from racist or some of the other made up stuff. Thats ridiculous.
