Why do MLB teams celebrate so much when they make the playoffs

is it because the season is so long and so few teams make it


I mean if you look at the As and Tigers celebrating just to make the playoffs

you dont see that in the nba or the nfl

the A's are a special case:

a lot of ppl had them losing 80-100 games and they were barely .500 going into the all star break...but now theyre in the playoffs and have a chance to take the division from the rangers

Also, as a DC sports fan we aint been in the MLB playoffs in like 70 years, and this our first ever pennant. First time the Orioles been in the postseason in 15 years.

Majority of them played 162 games
The owners are going to get the revenue


So why wouldn't they celebrate
