This is one of those cultural things vastly different to Western society. There’s a huge adoration for men who look beautiful and feminine in the East. I once read an essay explaining why Japan loves Michael Jackson written by a Japanese author and it was because they found that he personified the idea of a bishounen: a beautiful man.

Ive heard in Korea the men tend to literally be prettier than the women.
