Some of them like Jack Gallagher don't really make much head contact. Jack mostly hits his opponents with his palms, but he does it so fast most people don't notice.

With these NJPW wrestlers I can't speak on strong style wrestling but I do watch some NJPW. I'm no real expert so I'm going to guess, it's just foolish pride I used to wince watching Honma doing his diving headbutt and seeing him make full contact with the ground. Look at this he barely changes his form.

Shibata has said if he couldn't wrestle the way he wants then he doesn't want to wrestle anymore. I've seen some Shibata matches but I didn't know he busted himself open the hardway doing headbutts twice. Got this avi out it though

I agree that the headbutt spot is silly, but it can be effective when used in story telling nature. The first match bryan was back he was head butting like crazy. TSC was calling him out for it and we all were "wtf" at him doing that so much after his concussion. And BOOM. It was all over shortly after that.

The chinese wrestlers prolly miss communicated harleys wishes into more headbutts. Those guys wrestle like idiots anyway.

Nah, I think it was the brain trauma, dude had the brain of an 80+ year old Alzheimer's patient. Also the deaths of close friends made him further deteriorate, particularly Eddie Guerrero, and The Big Bossman. If it was roid rage he would've carried these out quicker than he did, If I remember correctly he killed himself days later.

Also, as far as the diving headbutt goes because it's a legit dangerous move that every fan knows the risk of instead of banning it should be the diving equivalent of a piledriver a move no one should kick out of period. Perhaps even becoming a nuclear finisher performed rarely by the best wrestlers in the business.

You just know at that point Chris Benoit the person had already died, and it was just a body running off of whatever instincts/impulses that damaged brain could muster. Legitimately had to make sure the covers were over my feet because fukk that.
