Why didn't/hasn't Detroit become a Black Mecca? Over 80% blk, Democratic mayors since 1962. Half the time Dem gov. It had the infrastructure, homes

Yes, I know about the car manufacturing plants leaving

But with all that time, why didn't black folks begin/start new industries? Trade with Canada right there or something... begin to pivot into other industries.

I can understand Small towns like those in the south being slow to develop, but Detroit has had the infrastructure for transporting goods, lavish homes, and neighborhoods, etc.

Detroit was America's wealthiest city per capita in the 1950s

Chicago pivoted

Detroit was an excellent and prosperous city for Black people, there was the Black Bottom and Paradise Valley.

I made a post back in 2021 how Dr. Claud Anderson tried to rebuild the Black Bottom but he was sabotaged by c00ns and sellouts:

This reminds me of when Dr. Claud Anderson tried to rebuild Black Bottom in Detroit and the c00ns and sellout sold him out to stop it from being built. Right now they are building an express (train) down Crenshaw:

Because we had some leaders of the past who fought for integration instead of resources and land

And doing and after the civil rights that white flight as well as the resources crippled black communities all over

And u add the drugs into the mix , it was/it is a wrap for places like Detroit and others

What also doesn’t help u have the kwame kilpatrick types who tariq the communities with bullshyt talk and end up cutting deals with white contractors for their own pockets
