I grew up with speech problems due to being autistic but I loved listening to Hip Hop as a kid so learning to rap was a way of learning how to be better linguistically. As it happened, I became good at it fairly quickly even though I was still very young. It was a bit of a pipe dream when I was 10, but that was the height of the shiny suit era so that was why. I abandoned the thought when I hit secondary, and just started playing piano again. But after people heard me rap, people kept saying they wanted me to continue and take it more serious. A good friend of mine convinced me to do it properly when I was 14 or so, so I said fukk it and continued. I became a better writer, vocalist and became more creative in the process.
I haven't rapped in about 2 years now, but I'm most likely gonna start again soon.
