Not really, this explanation is pretty simple. He didn't know how at that point. He didn't learn how to communicate with the Jedi through the force until a couple years later in The Clone Wars. Yoda was the first person he contacted, that was in season 6 of TCW.

And him offering Vader guidance wouldn't work anyway. Vader wasn't trying to hear nothing no Jedi had to say. nikka was ready to murk his best friend and little sister with no hesitation. Some dude he knew for 3 days when he was eight years old meant nothing to him

The real reason is because the character was made up after Darth Vader. The movie version is I am sure nerds will make there excuses
