Yes this is a Booth discussion because Bob Marley transcends genres and is an obvious influence on Snoop Dogg's

In this rare audio clip you hear John Lennon basically say that Bob Marley fell off or sold out when he says Bob Marley "Lost it"

We lost both of these legends within 4 months of each other and they both share a connection to Jimmy Iovine

Bob Marley is GOAT

John Lencac has 1 good song Imagine :camby:

Ermmm :dwillhuh:

It just seems like he said it from an artistic point of view

I am not sure what year this is, but I guess from a musical stance John believes than Bob wasn't making as good music:yeshrug:

He was the biggest hipster of his time, my guess is that he's saying look how dope Marley was before all the Americans and Europeans and shyt started listening to him.

I've never thought of it like that before but it's so blatantly obvious, he is a definitive example or archetype of the hipster mentality

Lennon and Beatles low key loved Bob Marley and the reggae era.

I wonder what their music would've sounded like if they traveled to Jamaica instead of India

What's the connection between them in Jimmy Iovine?

Jimmy Iovine got his start in the music industry when he was mopping floors and John Lennon told him to come in the studio and man the mixing board,

"But the Jewish connection to reggae is very deep. Bob Marley, reggae's first major figure, recorded on a label called Island Records, established by a Jewish guy named Jimmy Iovine."

JUF : Tweens : Celebrities : Matisyahu

It appears that this quote is wrong as Jimmy Iovine is not the founder of Island Records

Paul McCartney wrote the song around the time that highlife and reggaewere beginning to become popular in Britain. The starting lyric, "Desmond has a barrow in the market-place", was a reference to the first internationally renowned Jamaicanska and reggae performer Desmond Dekker who had just had a successful tour of the UK.[3] The tag line "ob-la-di, ob-la-da, life goes on, brah" was an expression used by Nigerian conga player Jimmy Scott-Emuakpor, an acquaintance of McCartney.[4]
