very depressing. it gives pause now, cant just make snap judgements of the thugs you see on the news. it's clear this dude was a lot more complicated than high speed chase coverage could do justice to. i dont want to make an angel out of the guy, he was a thug, but clearly non-violent, traumatized, and on that day, suicidal.

and there is simply no excuse for chase coverage to not have a delay

i probably went too far calling him nonviolent. what i really meant was that he clearly didnt want to actually shoot anybody, and probably was looking for a way to die at some point (suicide by cop), so he caused an incident. ultimately he just said fukk it and shot himself in that field.
