those are CGI movies, shyt ain't cheap, got a few million to a cutscene in a videogame if it's high quality

You do realize that Animation is more expensive than shooting Live-action? Not to mention that they now use name actors to do the voices on these movies nowadays.

Not to mention it takes a real long time to actually make the movie.
cgi, voice overs, promotion, marketing, inflation etc. etc.
You think that's bad? Final Fantasy: the Spirit's Within costs $137 Million in 2000 (which equals to $192 Million today), and it flopped 
Animation costs breh. Lol everyone has already said why but these flicks are often created over a span of years.

But why though? Computing power isn't expensive. Is it just the animators making ridiculous bread or...? Seems like the low overhead would make it much less expensive.
