the one overwhelming factor in a white american's decision to vote for a republican is because they believe the democrats will push legislation that might help black people. that's IT. that's the ONLY thing that needs to be said. i HATE when people offer up these excuses for why millions of americans choose to vote for a party that clearly doesn't have their best interests at heart.

you see it everywhere, be it cnn or msnbc. these silly pundits despairingly palm their faces and ask, "Why do they still do this??"

as if they don't know the answer. stop dancing around the OBVIOUS, cowards. if you vote republican, it's because you hate black people and don't want to see them get ANY kind of assistance whatsoever. you don't want to see ANY shift in a status quo that has black people at the bottom of the socio-economic ladder.

Actually the real root is, "let's not rock the boat". Repubs dont want change, they want to stay conservative b/c a large part of their demo is upper-middle class ppl and they've had easy lives. They want stuff to stay the same. If things stayin the same for them f's up everyone elses lives below them, too bad. It just so happens that most the ones below them are minorities.
