cs. they used to do this back in the day with certain games. I remember buying some magazine just for the mgs3 demo a while back. it would def hype their shyt up even more cuz i used to know tons of nikkas that would go crazy with the demos, playin that shyt over and over got a nikka :gladbron:

They want a controlled atmosphere for the demos.

If you notice most of the videos have a Company Representative talking, pointing out stuff and informing the reporter on what is going on in the game. It's just building hype. 90% of games there probably wouldn't interest you so they keep things at bay so they can try and control what image is shown to you.

Alot of them probably aren't ready for that kind of release yet. In other words they're probably buggy as hell and prone to crash. Publicly releasing a demo like that could give a very wrong impression of the final product.

yeah, I remember Resistance 2 was like that. They said in one of their podcasts that if the dude would have touched the couch during the demo the whole thing would have just ended during the battle. They said it wasnt until they noticed that other studios had canned footage ready to play if there were any problems that they decided to use that method in the future.

tho I would think the ones on the showroom floor are more stable tho those also have reps there to walk each person through the game session. adn most of them are running on Dev kits. No telling how they would run on a normal system.

still would like to play em without having to go to E3(I think you still need a press pass to get in the conferences)

Yeah I wish I could play some of them esp the multiplayer but the bottom line is releasing a demo closer to the release day is usually the more financially viable way to go

I blame too human... The demo was awful and the backlash :wow:

:laff: @ Xbots thinking that game was going to come through and crush the buildings.

One of the worst experiences I've ever seen/played/heard (sound effects were putrid) in my life. Greatest flop ever possibly.

:what:

I don't think they would risk playing some buggy shyt at an event as big as E3 or Jimmy Fallon's show. Imagine if the game crashed while they were debuting it?

Uh, I'm pretty sure it happens. The important thing is the rep is there to let everyone know the game isn't finished and these things are being fixed. They also probably use demos that avoid any known issues they're having at the moment.
