Why can't ESPN 8 "The Ocho" be a permanent thing?

The sad part is that this is basically what ESPN2 was, before it basically just started running whatever show just concluded on ESPN half the time.

ESPNews has random programming blocks where it flirts with being the Ocho, but you have to deal with roughly 60% of the screen being taken up by betting info and the bottom line.
