Why aren't people more involved in planning their own funerals?

I know that any planning would depend on your faith in those who would actually wind up responsible for the execution, but why doesn't this happen, even among the elderly?

It's the final time your people will see you in the physical form and you let someone else pick out your clothes, song selection, food at the reception, etc.

And all this is usually done in about a week instead of months like a wedding.

I've made it clear to my family and fiance that if anything happens to me that my remains should be cremated and the ashes turned into gems for my kids.

Make sure you already have a life insurance policy on deck too. Recently my cousins had to bury their mom when she suddenly died in her sleep from a heart attack. They had to raise money and come out of pocket just to give her a decent burial which i'm sure was added stress on an already grieving family.

Usually because people dont plan to die and when they do, obviously, they no longer have the ability to care.

Shoot I dont mind donating my organs If I happen to die early in my life.
Otherwise if im old when I die bury me next to my father and the other 2 generations of our name.
