Why Are The Crowds Always So Dead For 205 Live?

It comes on after 2 hrs of SD, dark matches before that, and there's no stars
Yeah, I went to the Smackdown after Christmas.
It's 2+ hours of Smackdown including the dark match. Before 205 even started, ring announcer comes on like, special match KO/Sami/Jinder vs Nak/AJ/Randy with Daniel Bryan as special ref

Allstate Arena sucks, I'm already ready to go because the seats are tight and my knees have been against the chair in front of me for 2 straight hours. Then it's 2 matches with people that don't get any screen time wrestling and you really don't care. One of the matches was Jack Gallagher and someone else, match sucked, got boring chants. The match after I think was Mustafa and someone else, crowd got a bit more live for that. But everyone was ready for the special match after so they could go home.

People leave. I was at SD the week before @jwinfield and there was a mass exodus in Newark similar to Backlash once Smackdown ended.
You’d think the 205 tapings in other time zones would keep crowds though since they end at around 9:45.

They need to drop the "live" aspect of this and put it on a smaller venue filled with a rabid smark crowd. They are letting the guys shine a little more but in front of an apathetic crowd that is doing nothing.

They could actually play with the definition of “live” and just say that it’s in front of a live audience.
On your second point I think they were tedting that out when they put the cruisers on the road but those shows failed and they nixed plans of a separate tour.

I would think exhaustion would be a key. That's a lot of wrestling to sit through on a Tuesday night. Plus, a lot of people don't know who these guys are unless they have that network subscription.

The scheduling of 205 live and talking smack was mindboggling.
Especially for a show that has title defenses as often as Main Event or Superstars, it should be leading into SD.
They really suck at delivering their own content.

It's definitely the placement of the show.
It's a testament to these guys that every week for the past 5 months they've managed to get an apathetic crowd to chant "this is awesome" or something to that regard, for every main event.
It's a shame because each week they get that particular live crowd on their side, then they start from zero the next week.
