Part II isn't that bad, just heavy with the political overtones.

Considering it's the original director's son, it's not that bad :manny:

Loved the first one.

Battle Royale is definitely a must see. 2 is trash but still better than hunger games. They should have made an Enders Game movie instead.

lol they wouldn't know how to make or market an Ender's Game movie for americans.

Can't make the kids too old or you defeat the purpose of the movie and piss off the actual fans.

can't make the kids their actual age or people would flip out.

can't market it as a kids movie, though they prolly would, like they did Pan's Labyrinth.

Can't market it as a movie for teens, cause the kids are too young.

The movie's budget would be huge, then it would sort of just... linger there like that John Carter movie did.

edit: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ender's_Game_(film) ehhh..... we'll see how it goes.

oops. Battle Royale: Read the books, never saw the movie. The movie can't be anywhere near as... bleak and depressing as the books.

Of course an Ender's Game movie would be difficult to do but I believe it could be pulled off. Break it up into two movies and I think it would work.

There was a small period back in High School when I was killin' this Japanese/Asian movie game. Battle Royale, Zatoichi, Ichi the Killer, Versus, Tale of 2 Sisters, 3 Extremes, My Sassy Girl, etc etc etc. Of course Battle Royale was my favorite.

I haven't seen it in quite some time....I did recently put it in my netflix queue though, maybe I'll watch it later tonight.

Man, this is slightly off topic...but, this topic got me thinking about how digital affects consumption and value. It's been written on a lot in the past but....man, I used to order these joints from places like hkflix and dvdasia...I would anticipate that UPS guy like a mutha fukka. For my birthdays and stuff, I would just ask my parents to just let me buy a dvd offline. I CHERISHED my fukking collection, and would watch the film back to back.

Nowadays, I have huge netflix queue, and I can't even be fukked to get through one movie a week.
