With only 4 weeks left in the year, it's about that time to say goodbye to 2013.

I was just thinking about who's the fighter of the year and for the first time I really can't say. Last year it was clearly Nonito but Marquez and Garcia (Danny) made some noise.

This year it's a totally different ballgame, let's look at the candidates.

Danny Garcia - Went to the backyard of Zab Judah and got the decision over a 36 but still dangerous Judah. Garcia was criticized and belittled by a lot of boxing for "ducking" WBC interim champ Lucas Matthysse. Matthysse, was looked as this monster who could not be stopped. Garcia as a 3-1 underdog, proved myself and even the world wrong as he put on a good performance and derailed the hype train Lucas Matthysse.

Guerillimo Rigodeaux - Completely outclassed Donaire who some had very high on there p4p list 3-5. Has his next fight coming up with Joseph Agbeko next week. If he sparks out Agbeko with ease, he someone that has to be considered.

Mikey Garcia - Beat Orlando Salido for WBO featherweight title. Fought Juanma and lost the title due to coming over weight but still won. Moved up to SuperFeatherweight/JuniorLightweight and fought Roman Martinez to win the WBO title.

Adonis Stevenson - Came back and got Revenge from Darnell Boone. KO Chad Dawson in the first round to Win WBC lightheavyweight title (An no it's not the upset of the year motherfukkkas, so don't start that shyt. that goes to Johnny Gonzalez). Beat top 10 contender Tavoris Cloud and just stopped Tony Bellew.

Tim Bradley - Bradley started off the year with possibly FOTY candidate with Ruslan Prohinkov, barely got by. Came this past October and a had great performance against Juan Manuel Marquez.

Floyd Mayweather - The reigning P4P king who returned in May beat WBC Welterweight interim champ Robert Guerrero. Came back in September to fight Canelo Alvarez at a catchweight of 152 and put on a magnificent performance by schooling the kid, to capture the WBC light middleweight title.

Sergiy Kovalev - Kovalev came on the scene this year starting off 2013 by knocking out former light heavywieght challenger Gabriel Campillo in 3. Went to the backyard of Nathan Cleverly and stopped him in 4. Just last night destroyed the black russian :dead: Ismayl Sillakh in 2.

Gennady Golovkin - Stopped Gabriel Rosado in 7, then went through Nobuhiro Ishida in 3. Probably the biggest name he fought this year, tough vet Matthew Macklin and went through him in 3 rounds. Went to NY and beat down Curtis Stevens in 8. Doesn't have any BIG name or even any former champions but GGG was very active in 2013 and stopped all of his opponents.

Adrien Broner - Broner started off 2013 with a short but exciting fight with Gavin Rees, took Rees out in 5. Broner then jumped from 135 to 147 to take on WBA titlist Paulie Malignaggi. Broner got the decision but wasn't his best performance. Next week, he will take on the tough Argentinian Marcos Maidana. If Broner looks good and puts on a impressive performance he's another name that might have to be considered.

Rigodeaux is my man and a "hunnid grand" BUT if i had to pick the 2013, FOTY it would be Danny Garcia, period! I think he earned a LOTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT of respect from everybody when he beat Lucas the way he did and showed everybody he's alot better than what he think he is.

So, who's your fighter of the year, and WHY?

It gotta be the muhfukkin CHAMP:blessed:
Pua8rvt.jpg

He deserves it....Matthysse was hyped to the moon the next Pacquiao "arguably" undefeated ,knocked down Every boxer that he faced, iron chin never been hurt

Nobody this year got a W like that...N you then add the ass whooping he gave a motivated determined Zab Judah its a wrap.

Second would be Floyd

Stevenson has had a nice rise but beating Dawson coming off a L N Cloud coming off a L to 80yr old BHOP doesnt do it for me:yeshrug:

Bradley then Stevenson, Floyd Jr.and Swift
Bradley fought and beat the current boogeyman of 140-147 while concussed (while also beating the shyt out of Ruslan) and making p4p #3-5(depends who you ask) JMM look ordinary.
Stevenson gets most improved and 7 years out of 10 would get FOTY. GGG and Kovalev should not be candidates IMO

I still say Stevenson just because of how dominant he has been in all 4 of his fights this year against mostly top 10 comp but I would be all good with Swift getting it too...he handled both Judah and an overly hyped Matthysse who many picked to take Danny out.
Tim Bradley shouldn't even be in this conversation to be honest.

Brolic... Alcoholics
Stevenson or Garcia. Where Stevenson just dominated everyone they put in front of him, Garcia just continued to show that he could outclass everyone

By the looks of this thread I ain't the only one riding with Swift:umad:

But in all seriousness Stevenson beats Dawson coming off a KO L, he then beats Cloud coming off a L being outboxed by Bhop....how is that Fighter of the Year Worthy :mindblown:

Bradley beat JMM N Prov I wouldn't be mad if he got the nod...its easy to say he shoulda got that L against Prov with kds not scored tho

Floyd gets overlooked cuz hes Floyd N makes shyt look easy but he had a great year as well

But I still say Swift since he cleaned out his division N put Matthysse into semi retirement.... nikkas wanna downplay Lucas now but before the fight knuckleheads were putting him P4P...saying he could beat Floyd....he'd ko this great he'd ko that great...now its oh he's a limited slugger jus a good Win for Swift:russ:

I really dont expect Garcia to win it tho....he gets no respect...Muhfukkers in the media still leave him off they p4p

With only 4 weeks left in the year, it's about that time to say goodbye to 2013.

So, who's your fighter of the year, and WHY?
1. Floyd Mayweather - dominated two quality opponents and probably lost 3 rounds between both fights, only due to not enough activity in the round.
2. Danny Garcia - a nice win vs Judah where Danny showed he could box more than we thought and the Matthysse fight is his career definer. Showed a great chin and captured the 140 lb crown.
3. GGG - most dominating fighter (besides Mayweather) in 2013. Fought the best available talent he could get, but for him to step up in P4P rankings, he needs top tier opponents as their schedules open up.
4. Stevenson - clearly dominated and burst onto the scene. Again competition holds him back a bit, but he surely has a "signature" KO.
5. Rigondeaux - Maybe not the schedule needed (mostly network doing), but assuming he beats Agbeko, besides Floyd he will have technically dominated his opponents more than anyone else.
6. Tim Bradley - heart of the year won in the Provodnikov fight (I also had him winning by 2 pts) and a close but easy decision vs. JMM. He isn't pretty, but I love the grit he fights with.
7. Mikey Garcia - opponents were solid but uninspiring. Dominated and looks to own the 130 lb division.
8. Adrien Broner - assuming he beats Maidana. In both the Rees and Paulie fight, Broner worries me in that he hasn't learned how to effectively throw less punches and dominate like Mayweather does, however he won those two fights easily and Maidana would be a great win to continue to move Broner to a top tier 147 lb'er. However, if Maidana wins he himself would deserve top 10 FOTY consideration.
9. Kovalev - what he lacked for in quality opponents he made up with pure domination and moved himself into deserving a chance to determine who the best at 175 is.
10. Jhonny Gonzalez - 3 fights and 3 victories for Jhonny, including a nice KO win over the divisions hottest fighter Mares.

I guess my rough top 10.
