This what I be saying about LeBron. He's LAZY.

I don't want to hear no "he's old" excuses-- you're eating up a significant portion of the salary-- play ball or retire dude.

Saying he's saving himself for the fourth is a cope. He's lazy and blames others when HIS man cashes threes. It's the most frustrating thing about watching him these past couple years. This shyt pisses me off beyond belief, and why I stan the defensive players so much.

I don't care about offense. I care about not looking like Rockets James Harden out there :martin:

You're 100% right. If dude gets paid like a top 5 player, it's fair to expect top 5 player impact. We're not getting that. Blame Ham, blame the role players but this is the real issue right here. Him and AD are not living up to their contracts.

There are 18 players making $40+ million: Curry, Durant, Jokic, Embiid, Bron, Beal, Giannis, Kawhi, Dame, PG13, Butler, Klay, Gobert, VanVleet, AD, Trae, Luka, and Lavine

Bron's VORP is 4.2, 6th in the league. Only guys above him are Jokic, Doncic, Shai, Giannis, and Sabonis.
AD's VORP is 3.9, 12th in the league. Only other guys above him are Embiid, Kawhi, Tatum, Haliburton, and Durant.

The 3rd highest laker is D-Lo at 1.5 (62nd in the league) then Reaves at 1.3 (73rd in the league). Literally NO ONE else on the Laker lineup plays better than a replacement-level player (Rui at 0.0 is the 5th best Laker, 273rd in the league).

All year long you've had this insane obsession with claiming that the two Laker stars are the whole problem, and objectively that's not true. Bron and AD are playing right at the level that you should expect max players to play. The fact that they're on the court with literal negative impact players most of the time like Prince, Reddish, Wood, Christie, and now Dinwiddie in stupid fukking lineups is the biggest problem.

using your logic, sabonis is better than Lebron and AD, so how many of y'all are willing to admit that?

see how stupid that sounds. using YOUR logic, we have two players that are less impactful than Sabonis yet i'm supposed to believe our issues lie with our role players.

the reason why this team isn't where it's supposed to be is because AD never took that leap offensively. it's why Lebron has to exert himself even more. I already gave Bron some grace, I'm not doing that with AD. He's supposed to be in the Giannis and Jokic convo.

Facts, superstar players should be able to win in spite of the coaching. The role players aren’t the best by any stretch but good enough imo. Not saying we’d be contenders but at least we wouldn’t look this bad.

At the end of the day, there was a team and coach in place that didn’t have a chance to prove themselves after an injury riddled season in 2021 and the moves made since have compounded the already existing problems of Bron’s age and Anthony’s fraudulence as a superstar franchise player.

Then why could Kobe only win with Phil Jackson?

The coach is a huge part of puzzle, and Lakers have one of the worst in the league right now.

Because Kobe wasn’t ready under Del Harris and Kobe and the roster had aged out post Phil and the one season in 05 Rudy T quit inexplicably and Kobe got injured which led to Phil coming back which was a front office decision and not a Kobe request. :ehh:

Again, I wasn’t saying it as if we’d be surefire locks for a title or even in the top 3 but the talent and consistency/dominance of our superstars wouldn’t have us lookin this rough. But no disagreement in terms of Ham, he has to go asap.

I doubt he would have, I think after that injury in 2019 he really thought his window was almost up.

And I'm not sure the front office would be willing to pay Lebron, AD, Randle, Ingram, Kuzma, KCP, Lonzo, Clarkson, Lopez. Going by 2023 #'s, that would be about $215 million in salary and you'd still be 6 players short in the roster.....and you STILL wouldn't have a healthy point guard, backup center, or reliable 3pt shooters.

Pretty sure they couldn't have even signed LeBron without letting Lopez, Randle and Clarkson go...

You literally just saw Sabonis bytch out AD head-to-head, and you're trying to act like this is crazy talk?

Sabonis is averaging 20-14-8 this year on 62% shooting and hitting 41% of his threes. You can actually run the offense through him and make teams pay, while AD just hasn't evolved as a facilitator and is pretty much stuck in the finisher role. On defense, Sabonis isn't the rim protector that AD is, but he bodies up other bigs (as we just saw) and is a great team defender who plays a similar role to Lebron in quarterbacking everyone else on defense.

I think Lebron has still been a more impactful player than Sabonis and will be better in the playoffs, but in the context of the regular season Sabonis has been making this Kings team hum, and comparing them as relatively similar is a completely fair conversation. Would you be that surprised to see Sabonis make All-NBA this year, possibly even 2nd-team All-NBA?

AD's lack of offensive leap has hurt the team. He's just far too inconsistent. But with Bron, D-Lo, Reaves, and Rui filling out the lineup, there should be more than enough offensive firepower for AD to do what he does. It's the stupid fukking lineups with multiple zero-offense or black hole players on the court at the same time that have caused AD's lack of consistent offense to hurt them.

AD has played like a fringe top-15 player, and he should be a solid top-10 player. So that's a problem for the Lakers. But it's not nearly their biggest problem. The terrible coaching, the failure to add shooters, and the failure to get a playable big were all bigger issues.

We need a center

Dwight basically been begging to come back on Twitter.

I don't know why they don't just bring him back and let AD fall into his natural 4 slot, and toss Bron back at the 3.

D'Lo
Reaves
Bron
AD
Howard

This is a lineup that can actually contend with opposing bigs.

Imagine Gordon and Jokic having to contend with Dwight and AD. :banderas:

Oh wait, we don't have to imagine it:

I mean he didn't even make the all-star team... AD is averaging 24 and 12 and is a lock for 1st team All-Defense. Sabonis has gotten the better of him in the last few matchups, but lets not go overboard.

We have seen glimpses of AD doing the same thing minus the 3 point shooting. The team just went away from it.
