There aren't a lot of wings that would require that :yeshrug: Most games he'll be guarding a guy that either sits corner or an Aaron Gordon type.

Against teams like the Clippers or Suns it's a problem, sure. But it's better than the status quo of AD guarding centers and Rui either guarding star wings or being the help guy. A rim protecting center as the last line of defense with AD mucking things up as a help defender is an elite defense.
There's four centers in the league worth worrying about and Turner is not a better option than AD in the paint.

Before it's all said and done. I believe the loss of KCP is going to bite Denver....Russ has played well, but the playoffs are a different animal....I also would not be shocked if LA acquired KCP before the deadline.
And how do you envision they do that?

For starters, they won’t take on his contract and y’all don’t have anything of worth that the Magic will want in return, unless y’all are willing to give up Reaves (which isn’t happening).

I'd rather have Cam Johnson than Myles Turner. I don't see how Turner makes sense for this team.

He's a good player but he needs to start. If he starts, LeBron slides to the three spot so the defense takes a hit and AD or Turner is chasing people around the perimeter. That would just throw everything out of whack.

You've been saying this about Turner for years

LeBron at the 4 is already terrible. The nikka stays on the perimeter the entire game, so we have no one helping AD fight for rebounds. Vando comes back and IMMEDIATELY makes a difference on that end.

LeBron needs to play the 2 or the 3, especially if he's not going to be in there banging with actual bigs every time a shot goes up.

Say the Lakers acquire Turner:

Reaves
Bron
Vando
AD
Turner

That's an elite combination of size, scoring and defense, with two guys you KNOW will be crashing the boards in AD and Vando, 4 players that can score from anywhere, and zero interior defensive scoring with AD and Turner guarding the paint.

Whatever move they make, I HATE the idea of LeBron at the 4. It has not worked, and our rebounding suffers as a result. I don't care about this "oh he tired chasing SFs" narrative nikkas trying to spin every time I say this.

If he tired, bring DFS in the game and continue turning up. :whew:

Trading AR for KCP would be stupid....I think RUI,JHS and a 2nd rd pk would be enough.....Orlando hasn't made the jump this season as they thought they would...I can see them wanting to dump KCP for a younger player that has upside

Just like trading Reaves for KCP is stupid for the Lakers, trading KCP for that package would be stupid for Orlando.

Or do you seem to think that every team is stupid enough where they'd trade all their valuable assets for the Lakers' ones that aren't so valuable?

The only package that the Magic would even entertain for KCP would have to involve Reaves, and like I said, that isn't happening. Orlando would be able to get infinitely better returns for KCP than whatever foolishness you just posted. More to the point - until the Magic can get healthy and start playing to the best of their capabilities, KCP isn't going anywhere. He was brought on for his experience and leadership, so to just abandon that exercise now, for muh'fukken Jalen Hood-Schifino and Rui is beyond insanity to even suggest so.

I know your whole gimmick is suggest trades to make the Lakers the best team possible, but at least be somewhat realistic here.

What are you talking about when you say "Valuable assets"?........KCP is making 22m and only avg 9p/2r/2a on 41/31 shooting......KCP doesn't have much value playing for a middle of the road franchise.....He needs to be on a title contender.........My trade is a fair trade......Giving up a AR-26 yrs old- 12m per yr- 18p/6a/4r/44%/36% for a 31 yr old-22m per yr- 9p/2r/2a/41%/31% would be retarded.

You just dont want the Lakers to win a championship.

It's not even remotely a fair trade.

You're talking out of your muh'fukken ass.

If you're reducing KCP down to these box score stats, what makes you so desperate to want him on the Lakers then if he's only shooting 3s at a 30% clip and only averaging 9 points? Why are you trying to frame it as if he's this worthless player when you want the Lakers to trade for him?

He's valuable in that he provides leadership, championship experience and has proven to rise to the occasion when needed. He's proven to be one of the best role players in the league. All of which you're abundantly aware of, so to think it's a fair trade for the Magic to give up that caliber of player for one rotational player and another player who's lucky to even be in the league is patently ridiculous.

Rui would be lucky to crack the Magic's main rotation and JHS would be lucky to even get a seat at the end of the bench, at any point during the season.
You just dont want the Lakers to win a championship.
What the fukk does this even mean?

I'm telling you what the Magic would do. They would literally laugh down the phone at Pelinka if he offered that package for KCP. They signed him this past offseason, so please tell me, why would they give him up halfway through the first year of his contract for such a weak ass package, particularly centered around a player at a position which they already have a lot of depth in?

99.999999% of the trades you throw up in this thread are unrealistic.

Go and play some 2K if you wanna deal in fantasies.
