I don't even know if JJ is a good coach yet. He's at least competent which is 10x what Ham was. This is why I didn't have a real issue with them not making any major moves over the summer. We didn't even know what this roster could do because Ham bungled it so badly the past two years.
If they stay in the top five before the deadline, I expect them to pull the trigger on a noteworthy trade.
