They coulda kept both. Caruso even wanted to take less. Crazy cause they found that dude…developed him into the player he is today and then just let him go over a couple mil. It’ll prob cost them 2 first round picks to get him back now. Then they turn around and flip THT (nikka still has no left) for 4 months of Pat Bev…who they flipped for 2 months of Mo Bamba…who then left for nothing. That’s just the definition of hustling backwards.
It should have been both but this cheap ass organization made it a one or the other situation and they chose the Klutch guy. That's how the current system works. DLO/Rui/Reaves are great examples of that. They made their $$ cause they deserve it, but also cause you need high enough salaries to match in case of trades.
Same with THT. If just was a dumb decision that failed massively
