Been a while since we've had a fun thread here, and I got an idea for one from another board. Where do you think you favorite heroes would be on the political spectrum?

Superman - Moderate Democrat. Works at a newspaper so he's part of the "liberal media", plus his archenemy is a rich, greedy businessman.

Batman - Republican. Is a (very) rich white guy between 30 and 50 years old, enough said.

Spiderman - Defintely a Liberal Democrat. He's from New York and is poor, plus he's a science enthusiast. And he's all about social responsibility and helping those in need.

Iron Man - Neocon. Rich white guy, plus in Civil War dude was pretty authoritarian and basically just threw his enemies into the negative zone without any real due process.

Green Arrow - Votes Green Party. He's actually mentioned that he's a hardcore leftist.

Green Lantern Hal Jordan - Probably Republican. Is a white guy with a military background.

Green Lantern John Stewart - Democrat. Is black and from Detroit.

The Hulk - Libertarian. Hulk just want to be left alone.

Fantastic Four - Reed Richards would probably vote Democrat since he's a science and heavy into academia. Human Torch is an arrogant white guy and thus probably votes Republican. Invisible Woman is a conservative soccer mom type and would probably vote Republican too. Ben Grimm is jewish (I think) so he probably votes Democrat.

Feel me?

Iron Man is basically Thomas Friedman. Captain America is an old school FDR Democrat with a libertarian streak on civil liberties.

Wolverine doesn't give a shyt about politics, I'm sure. He's Canadian though so I doubt he'd be a libertarian. Prof. X is like MLK or Gandhi. He's pretty far to the left...moreso than the average Democrat.

Batman would either be a moderate Republican or maybe an almost-Republican Dem, imo. He wants to reduce crime (and poverty,) but doesn't necessarily believe in Socialism. He's ok with rich people being rich, and just wants to be tough on crime and corruption as a way to help people instead. He's clearly ok with vigilantism. He probably opposes the death penalty since he refuses to kill.

I think I gave myself a dare. It was the height of the Cold War. The readers, the young readers, if there was one thing they hated, it was war, it was the military....So I got a hero who represented that to the hundredth degree. He was a weapons manufacturer, he was providing weapons for the Army, he was rich, he was an industrialist....I thought it would be fun to take the kind of character that nobody would like, none of our readers would like, and shove him down their throats and make them like him....And he became very popular.

Bama ass DC
Batman is a Dem. He's not selfish and tries to help the poor. Doesn't really give a shyt bout his company unless they're gonna do something to hurt others. Trying to get into renewable energy. Even tho he's a billionaire he's a Dem.

Blasphemy. Cyclops turned into Huey Newton about 5 years ago.

:wtf:

Are we talking about the same character? Straight-laced, by the book, boy scout Cyclops? I really need to catch up on the comics.

I don't know. I mean dude is a reporter so he's basically part of the "liberal media", plus his nemesis (Lex Luthor) is a rich "job creator". Plus, Superman doesn't really do the whole nationalism thing anymore.
