What about Cameron and Sloan. Urkel and Laura woulda been perfect for them if this were the 90s

Cedric the Entertainer as Principal Rooney. Kevin Hart as the host at the fancy restaurant.

The easy answer for Ferris is Michael B or Shameik Moore

Actually before any of that you'd need the right director and I feel like rick famuyia might be that guy. More than anything, success in remaking a john Hughes movie depends on the director since his movies were so an extension of him and clearly all his voice.

But for Sloane I'd go with Tessa Thompson or Zandaya or the chick playing Liz Allen in the new spider man movie.

For Cameron, I'm drawing a blank.

Rooney can't be Cedric. Rooney has to be a guy who's clearly an authoritarian and not any fun at all. Like you'd need a serious actor in that role who doesn't mind being the butt of the jokes either. Maybe Laurence Fishburne. You need someone with authority and power but also a bit of a douche.

For the other parts meh do what you want lol

A scene where goofy black and Latin freshman are all concerned over Ferris's health would be GOAT. A black remake can work if done right.

Nah man he was an actor first comedian second. you don't cast a comedian in that role. you cast an actor who can be funny. Idris, Chi McBride. You cast Cedric and the shyt becomes a typical comedy and Ferris isn't typical. But again, that comes down to the director and the writer which takes us back to square one in that remaking a john hughes movie is kind of a futile effort
