Before any of you mfers on your period get all emotional about the question and neg me just think about it for a sec 1st.

20 , 30 or 50 years from now will history books in America have a chapter or section in it covering Barack obama's American success that's just as big if not bigger than Martin Luther king jr?

I've brought this up to people because I think about how in some circles in the black community ya boy barack is basically our hero regardless of his policies. A symbol of excellence intellegence and accomplishment most of us thought we'd never see EVER. His woman is basically THE QUEEN bytch and respected loved and honored by dam near all sistaz across the world more so than Oprah condoleeza rice, Halle berry and beyonce combined.

I personally think Obama will be revered higher in American history for these reasons and more but I could be wrong. People I've brought this up to that are my age and younger tend to agree with me, but when I pose this question to old heads they're like "umm... Lean in just a little but closer so I can SMACK THE shyt OUT YOU for even thinking something so blasphemous"

I'm not dumb, I know if there weren't for MLK and what he did we wouldn't even have a President Obama to talk about.

...just my opinion on how American History will compare the two when its all said and done.

MLK fought for the human rights of black people. The right to sit at a gatdamn diner table, the right to drink from a fountain, the right to be "a normal human being"

MLK and it ain't even close. If it wasn't for MLK, there would be no Obama

Dude .. I just said I kno if it weren't for one we wouldn't have the other:stopitslime:

And you misinterpreting what I'm asking. I didn't ask who was the better man, or who did more for the human race regarding civil liberties and freedoms, I asked who will go down in higher regard in the context of modern American history going forward.

Like I got kids right (pre-teens,teens) and if I asked them who is Michael Jackson they'll say "ain't that the weird looking guy who died a few years ago?"... They don't know the show-stopping glitter glove wearing mfer that WOWed the shyt out of us with his alien like singing and dancing in the 80s ...the same thing applies here. You and I and our parents and grandparents know how huge and influential MLK was but if you ask a young cat about him today and they'll say "ain't he the guy that made a great speech back in the black n white TV days?"

I guarantee you going forward barrack obamas chapter in history books will be twice as large as MLKs. and you talk about malcolm X, at this point hes lucky to have a few paragraphs in the book and WE KNOW what he meant to black folks trying to "rise up". Plus keep in mind barack is still young, the brutha just gettin started. Imagine what he gon do when he get out of the White House. That nikka gon act a mfin FOOL in this bytch! Lol

I understand that MLK paved the way for the likes of a President Obama but you gotta realize its a strong brutha whom had to have paved the way for MLK too, we just don't know his name because back then there were no microphones, cameras, and newspapers ESPECIALLY documenting what a nikka had to say, ESPECIALLY a nikka sayin something about "rising up".that mfer was runnin around shirtless like Django.

MLK by far in a few decades I think we will look back very negatively on the often hawkish foreign policies of the post cold war presidents and their roles in the economic downturn

This is like asking 50 years from now who will be more revered Jordan or Kobe when one wouldn't exist without the other.
