that's a good answer. I don't know if it was the first, but it's a good example from the 90s. One i remember the most is Aceyalone - Mic check
I loved this song and even bought the cd only to find that the intro song wasn't on his album. It wasn't even him. I discovered what song it was by a dude from California back in 98 three years after the release. (there was no youtube back then). Btw, The reason I liked this song so much is because it used the same bassline as Outkast's "hootie hoo" a year prior.
