Hogan got his due in other medium but was never super huge globally like michael j fox and arnie at that time..

Arnold wasn't considered absolute mega star until the later 80's to early 90's. Hogan was more famous the first up to like 88. Then Arnold became one of the biggest stars ever and got the huge respect with the success of T2.

At the same time Wrestlers were still just wrestlers at that point. They weren't really trying to be like how the Rock is today. Arnold was Hollywood famous which usually always wins out.
