What are your goals/weaknesses? You trying to jump a weight class or just optimize where you are?
Only thing I can suggest is that you get your numbers on those exercises you want to do and go to improve from there.
If you get a basic weightlifting workout plan you might not increase in strength that much if you're doing all of your workouts for boxing, but you will improve your strength somewhat and your physique.
Only thing I will suggest is to not overtrain to where your workouts are not efficient, something I notice a lot of my armature friends and people I know who just start out tend to do.
Organize your time and choose certain days to go hard at certain exercises (I.e. Weightlifting, running, skipping rope, sparring, bag work, etc.)
Like if you plan on lifting to improve strength one day, do some light cardio like skipping rope to go along with that. Or if you plan on sparring heavy one day, do some light bag work to go along with it and etc
Lol ok. That's cool I guessive had 8 fights and never lifted a weight in my life
Lol ok. That's cool I guess
You don't necessarily need weights right now, especially in amateurs. I'm expecting everything you need to work on would be instructed to you by your coach in regards to boxing or fighting.
If you want just a basic workout routine, just pick one online. Thing with a lot of boxers/MMA cats I know is that they tend to overtrain.
That's cool too but it only lasts so long and you're only as good as your competition. Just because you're doing good local, or at a certain level, doesn't mean there isn't someone betteri under train and get by on my talent.
im always blowing out my ass.

But you'll figure it out someday. Just make sure you're ready if you're trying to be serious
But just get a solid workout routine online or ask your coach about it. To be honest, you might not even need much weightlifting as you need calisthenics.
Boxers then didn't have to worry about boxers who did lift. What's wrong with what has tradiationally worked for boxers in the past 50+ years?
I haven't boxed in a while but there wasn't any weight training. Just a lot of jump roping, bag work, cardio, glove work, and situps.

I mean as time moves on, things advance and improve. I know that weight training has never been the MAIN source of conditioning for boxers, but it has become more popular in the present dayWhat's wrong with what has tradiationally worked for boxers in the past 50+ years?

Then don't worry about weightlifting unless your trying to increase overall size/strength. Calisthenics will do just fine if you want muscle conditioning for your current size/weightand roadwork. youre completely right.
but i dont have a job. so i have a LOT of free time.
