Today I decided to switch up the routine a little bit and throw swimming into my routine for cardio. I went in thinking I was going to bust out 20 laps (back and forth). Ended up struggling to muster out 5, with breaks and doggie paddling :dead:.

Anybody in here with good tips on how to build up stamina in swimming?

You just gotta keep grinding. We have a pool at our gym, its probably like 1/4-1/3 the length of an Olympic pool. I'm a terrible swimmer in general so I'm a little worse than average, but even now after swimming 2-3 times a week for maybe 2 months I'm still struggling. I will do half a lap and my heart will be maxed out :merchant:

I am getting better though. It took me about 3-4 months to get fully conditioned for cycling so I am thinking it will be the same with this shyt. Just be patient.

Is there any place in particular you used for references on technique or training best practices?

I like to swim to calm down from lifting honestly. I'm an angry b*stard when i'm on the weights, that cold ass water is usually a good :whoa: signal.

It's good to get in that pool and open your lungs up without working your joints every so often too

swimming is a lot harder than it looks. My dad does this for cardio (he is majorly overweight).
