My homeboy just got great results of this...

Anyone here done it?

I'm about to give it a go based on how well it worked for dude... I'm about to cut for sports reasons, and this looks like a good way to do it. Dude was eating good but getting decent results.

You aren't going to find much support for fad diets on this forum, especially fad diets based on gimmicks, and in the case of Paleo gimmicks not backed by science.

Paleo works simply because it is a way for people with low nutritional knowledge and /or poor self control to follow a low calorie and high protein diet without much thought.

Most people on this forum dont 'diet'....they just control their calorie intake and avoid sugar. Paleo will accomplish that goal, just understand that it isnt what it is cracked up to be.

Not a fan of a Paleo...but some heads swear by it....apparently its got a huge following...I tried it for like a two week period just to see what the hype was about...& I can honestly say its a hard diet to sustain both mentally & financially (fukkk i look like trying to find organic eggs and grass fed meat 24/7 & forfeiting all dairy goodness & grains).....Goodluck to you if you choose to eat in this manner.... you can forget having another carb-gasm for a longggg timmeee on this flex breh :pachaha:

Well, If You Stick With It It Will Work, And Work Fast

But Like Many Have Stated Over And Over, If You're In A Caloric Deficit Your Gonna Lose Weight Regardless Of What You Eat/Do

So Why Torture Yourself With Something You Wont Stick With For The Rest Of Your Life?

Paleo is great and will get you results. However my advice would be to implement certain aspects of the paleo theory and add it to your own diet as I can imagine it would be very difficult to stick to if you're just starting out. Once you start seing results on a casual-paleo diet you'll probably be encouraged to get stricter on it.

I take information and guidance from the paleo theory and add it in to my own diet which works best for me.

don't get holier than thou, brehs.

I'm well aware about calories, macros and general nutrition. Just to keep things interesting, I mix it up now and then - why the fukk would I WANT to be doing the same thing for the rest of my life?

So if I do paleo for a month, then do something else for a month, then do something else for 3 months... I have no problem with that.

I was more asking for general experiences... fully agree with you @AJW, that's a sensible approach.

A lot of people mention that it all comes down to calories in/out when it comes to weight loss, but that is not all the way true, at least for me. My body changed A LOT, when I increased my fat/protein intake, and drastically decreased my carb intake, but kept the calories constant. I have a very slow metabolism, and consuming too much sugar makes me bloat and store fat. If I were to exchange 300 calories from the vegetables I eat to say, bread or rice, I'd gain weight instantly.

In fairness I think a lot of that i directed to people just starting out. No need to murk up the process with advanced tactics before they can complete the basics.

This. I tried paleo and it was frustrating as hell to find foods that fit. You can't use regular vegetable oil, you gotta get ghee. You can't use flour, you can't use soy sauce, etc. Oh and don't ever think about eating dessert again.

I wound up giving up on it. But the biggest takeaways for me were: eat less carbs and processed food. I bought this cookbook for Xmas.

It has some good recipes but I just ignore a lot of the strict rules on some of the ingredients.

It's considered the worst diet out there by every voting index ever. As mentioned in this thread, extremely tough to follow and just plain silly logic. Low carb diets are dumb in general. A lot of you guys conflate fitness models with optimal health or being physically active.

Only diet that makes sense is the mediterranean diet.

The centenarians of Sicily to Sardinia

Drink Goat’s Milk and Eat Sardinian Longevity FoodsSardinians consume milk and cheese, not from dairy cows but from goats. The goats in this region have a unique quality. They eat dwarf curry, a plant currently used in the U.S. to make anti-inflammatory drugs. Sardinians also consume large quantities of dark red wine, fava beans, and barley.

Eat a plant-based, bean rich diet accented with pecorino (sheep cheese) and goat’s milk, using meat as an accent, rather than the main dish.

Ikaria, Greece

They eat a variation of the Mediterranean diet, rich in olive oil, whole grains, fruit and a little fish.

Nicoya, Costa Rica

  1. Plan your meals. Nicoyans eat their biggest meal in the morning and their smallest meal at night.
Okinawa, Japan

Eat a plant-based diet. Use vegetables from your garden, a farmer’s market or even a grocery store. Okinawan centenarians consume soy products, such as antioxidant rich tofu for additional health benefits.

All Blue Zone diets. All heavily aligned with the mediterranean diet.

its a great diet if you never wanna put too much thought into food. more than 1 ingredient= dont eat it

but i think just checking calories/macros is way more effective
