Good thread. Of that list, I'd probably say Heyman. He owned the territory and was responsible for the book as well. With the exception of RVD, Heyman made damn near EVERY guy he ever promoted look leagues better than they actually were. His only real downfall (though a major one) was not being a good enough businessman to take the company to the next level.

I'm split between Jim crockett and Vern Gagne. Gagne had a great eye for talent and the raid of his teritorry built the entire 80s wrestling boom, and started bischoff and others who blew up in the 90s

Jim Crockett had a great product and had a very well run territory other than some rotating bookers. JCP era WCW is one of the few old ass shows i can definitely watch.

Yeah I struggled a little bit picking between those guys as well. Crocket's WCW aged gracefully in some places and I'm like :leon: when I come across some of the gems I was too young to experience firsthand.

I'm going with Crockett. I watched the '88 Great American Bash and the atmosphere was insane. Those Crockett run shows were great.

It's really hard to tell, my gut answer is Verne Gagne. The AWA was a top promotion for almost 30 years and Vince was WAY more aggressive against Verne than JCP when he began his expansion. Cokeboy didn't bother with the South much but he sure as hell did whatever it took to take Chicago and Minneapolis and Gagne still put up a fight for a couple of years before finally getting soundly beat by the WWF.

I'm too lazy to do the research and find out who on the list did better at their peaks but Verne has them in longevity and he did big business for a pretty damn long time.

SMH at having Ted Turner and not Roy Shire or even Don Owens :smh: @Ed MOTHERfukkING G

Yeah, if we going international is really hard not to give the n°2 spot to Baba.
