My laptop like that now. It get's to the point where it can cook stuff. Writing a paper for finals I forgot it got that hot and after 3 - 4 hours sitting on my lap, I was like 
and damn near threw it against the wall. Now I keep two Ice packs on ready whenever I gotta type a big ass paper. dikk hates me, but gotta get work done until I buy a new one.

get a cooling pad, they are cheap and they divert the heat and cool the system. gotta protect tha goods

my vaio used to get so hott that u cooked literally flip it over and cook on the bytch. shyt was making me madd cause it's a fairly new one. I copped a few cooling pads, until I finally bought the Notepal U3, shyt is the goat cooling fans/pads. a bit on the large side but it keeps the pc cool as hell. My cousin had some HP he spent like $700 for and that thing get's hot to the point where it will cut off. Anything he does, the fan starts turning and it gets hot.

HP's are notorious for that shyt, my both my sisters overheated , one over heated to the point where the metal sunk in left of the trackpad
my dell didnt, and my current HP Beats one has HP Coolsense which kicks in when its over heating

my old dell laptop used to get HOT as hell. and it wasn't even old. the new HP one I got seems to be made out of carbon fiber which keeps it cool as hell. even when I have it sitting on the couch for hours at a time covering the vents.
