Even though she was saddled with predictable pop commercialism, the richness
and soulfulness of Whitney's voice was unmatched.

Maybe only Sarah Vaughan could be considered in the same category for matching vocal
color and feeling.

Whitney’s greatest period was the mid/late 80’s-mid 90’s ending with the waiting to exhale soundtrack. Mariah’s heyday was the entire 90’s (as well as early 00’s), so on that alone I’m going with Mariah. Her album run from Mariah - Rainbow plus all the remixes to her songs was :justwow:
