Because for the most part, everybody (execpt me and a few others) felt that GTA4 was garbage.

First it was hyped to hell just like this game is getting
THEN
It came out, we all was on it. Very quickly tho the majority of sohh.com'ers left GTA4 and said the game sucked.

For about the next 2yrs most people on sohh would shyt on the game

Now the next one is coming out and from what I've been reading, about 99% of you are all extra hyped for it
What gives? I'm thinking its the fact its back in Cali, that westcoast posters are excited about the possibilities of seeing landmarks they recognize.. should add to the experience.
OK, BUT!!!

The mistake I see here is these same dudes are looking PAST GTA4 and trying to pull there fond memories of San Andreas as the basis for why this game will be good.
Lets not forget, GTA4, you either loved it or you hated it
If you hated it, don't expect a sequel to San Andreas. Its not, its a GTA4 sequel
So far, the graphics while they look nice? They looked nice in GTA4 as well
So what about gameplay? I already been told that gameplay hasn't even been shown that much as of yet
Which means everyone of you who have high expectations are setting yourselves up.
Have low expectations.. let that bytch breathe.... and if the game is actually good?

And if its not, you won't be disappointed because it didn't live up to this expectation that it never could reach. Unpolished 3 knows what I'm talkin about
Just keep your eyes open gamers, thats all I'm sayin. Details still a lil scarce even tho the game isn't too far away. Thats usually a bad sign...

It's not so much that I hated GTA IV, I was bored with it. The story didn't really captivate me, the characters weren't very interesting, and there weren't that many side things to do. Multiplayer racing and Cops N Robbers was enjoyable, but SP was a snoozefest.

Each GTA is a new chance though. If this game is mostly the same with a more interesting story, (and maybe more "choices") I'll be happy.

To be honest, I don't even know where I stand. I enjoyed GTA4, but it didn't hold my attention enough for me to get even halfway thru it
I liked the online modes, but the majority of gamers left that game quickly
Once ppl leave a game, it loses its luster.

I just don't get it when I don't see anybody saying what you just said... til now

i am very much looking forward to it.
i enjoyed GTA4, it was a good game but SA had so much more going for it.
the variety of environments is what i really loved. forests, mountains, desert, urban, suburban, beaches, casinos...that shyt is what really made SA the goat GTA game.

add onto that:

getting fat or skinny
vomiting from eating too much
planes you can actually fly
jet packs
learning different fighting styles
swimming in the ocean
boats you can get in and control

if they bring all this back with today's graphics and a good story with characters
people will love and love to hate then it's gonna be crack rocks.

if they don't bring back stuff from other games that people enjoyed and bundle it all into
this game then they will have fukked up. they need to bring back the drugs that you can take so time slows down like they had in Vice City.

they also need to have shape shifting pedo reptilians as the final boss fight.

This shyt is now reaching epic proportions. Shortly after GTA4 dropped, most nikkaz from the sohh/coli-verse said GTA was overrated. There was a thread on it with polls and everything.
Its like the highest rated game this gen, and almost EVERYBODY started to shyt on it

great game. 6 stars and having the military come after you... Haitians too.

great game and the visual themes where so well thought out and worked into the game.

the soundtrack was amazing and the talk radio channels were probably the best when it came to parodying the political environment of the time.

never saw the need to. it seems to me like it is a world that you want to have to yourself.

gta IV's story was lackluster, i never connected with niko like i did cj or tommy vercetti. Plus the lack of customization also made him feel like a character rather my character. With cj in san andreas, you could have him look wild with a leather jacket and a blue mohawk or og with apair of baggy jeans and a jersey with a brolic build and a clean cut. plus his story was far more interesting then niko's

also, gta IV was no where near as wide with variety as GTA SA...i would drive through the hood and willingly would drive the same car from there all the way to the country all the way to Las Venturas just because it was a fun way to kill time...and kill different characters
