Been wanting to ask this for awhile now actually
I sometimes randomly look up wrestlers’ Wiki to see the championships they held and see all kinds of “world heavyweight championship” (or just world) under companies I have not heard of
Obviously we know
WWF/E
NWA
WCW
AWA
ECW
TNA
ROH
IWGP
AEW
Those are the ones hardly anyone would disagree with
WCCW had one back in the 80s that seemed to be respected
Then you got MLW and PWG who die hard fans might recognize while others might be
AAA/LU as well
One of the reasons I asked this is because of the USWA Unified World Heavyweight Championship from the 90s
It was the AWA and WCCW world titles unified
That title makes world champs out of people we normally don’t think of as former world champs like
Owen Hart
Scott Hall
Papa Shango
Kamala
Koko B Ware
Junkyard Dog
Tatanka
Undertaker had it (and defended it against Steve Austin)
Macho Man even had a run with it
But yea, would you consider every person who had a title with “world heavyweight champion” in it as a former word champ? If not, which ones do you think should count?
