So I've done Breaking Bad, Game Of Thrones and The Wire and now I'm weighing up my options for the next
drama for me to watch. Which one?

The Sopranos - No, I've never actually watched it in full. Seen episodes when they used to show it over here, but I keep hearing it's part of the holy trinity alongside Breaking Bad and The Wire.

Dexter - Watched the first episode and thought it was quite good, but I keep hearing about fukkery from the writers in the last seasons, which is quite offputting.

The Shield - Constantly gets namechecked alongside those shows, and sound like a cross between Breaking Bad and The Wire.

Luther - Maybe I should go for a British drama, and with Idris Elba it's sure to be good. Sounds better than Downton Abbey anyway!

Top Boy - Gets called the British version of The Wire, and I've heard nothing but praise about it.

Or if there are any other shows you can recommend, I'm all ears.

Landslide voting, it seems.

Yeah, it just seems to be purely about the gangs, whereas of course The Wire focused on several aspects of a city.

Still hear it's worth a watch though, and probably more realistic regarding what it's like in Britain than Downton Abbey or Sherlock.

Dog I'm from South London myself, this shyt is meant to depict gang culture from exactly where I live.

It's definitely glamourised for TV as you'd expect, but the acting is terrible, the dialogue is terrible and the plot is very average. It got some acclaim online simply for the fact that it was the first British show to ever really reach mainstream terrestrial TV depicting this kinda shyt, but it's not a good show at all. It's weak in so many facets and it DEFINITELY doesn't sit at the table with the GOAT's.

theres no point in you watching any other television show ever again until you watch the sopranos.

i wouldnt have even watched breaking bad without first watching the sopranos. any television show released after 2002 that contains a type of "anti hero" as its lead character is some form a rip off of the sopranos. you really need to watch it.

the shield is nothing like breaking bad or the wire. its more similar to sons of anarchy. if you like SOA then you'll probably like the shied. its a good show...not in my top 20 tho.
