Which Duo wins more rings? Shaq and Magic or Kareem and Kobe?

Lets transport a 20 year old Kobe to the lakers in the 79-80 season. He plays until Kareem retires after the 89 season. They still fire westhead, they still get worthy etc.. etc..

Lets transport a 20 year old Magic to the lakers in 96-97. Shaq just signed as a free agent. They still get Phil after the 99 season, they still draft who they draft. They still trade for Glen Rice after the 99 season. Lets assume Shaq plays 10 years instead of 8. So he leaves after the 06 season.

Which duo would have won more rings??

Great passers can play in any era. He also had the size and post game too. Many of those scoring PGs as the main options didn't win anything. Steph the outlier and he's played combo guard since Kerr took over not the traditional PG role Mark Jackson had him in.

steph didnt play until the late 2000s...end of the decade...he dont count

cp3...nash....tony parker...iverson....dwill....they could all score....a lot...

the point im trying to make is that magic wouldnt be the magic we knew...

he would have grown up during the 80s/90s...and had completely different influences on his game....

Anyway you slice it, Magic and Shaq.

Besides his basketball IQ, Magic is one of the greatest leaders in the history of sports. Can get the best out of his teammates. Knew which buttons to push.

Shaq would probably be jealous of all the love and attention Magic got after 2 years and they break up :skip:
